Westfield Gas + Electric (WG+E) is making it easier and more affordable for local homeowners to weatherize their homes with an enhanced Insulation + Weatherization Rebate. Customers who complete qualifying insulation, air sealing, and blower door test work can now receive an on-bill credit covering 50% of costs, up to $3,000. Triple the rebate is available for a limited time, running September 1, 2026, through December 31, 2026.
The rebate is designed to lower the upfront cost of home energy upgrades that cut waste, reduce utility bills, and improve comfort year-round. It’s part of WG+E’s ongoing commitment to helping the Westfield community use energy wisely.
“We’ve tripled the rebate until the end of the year, because winterizing a home is one of the most effective ways to save on energy costs, and the upfront investment can be a barrier for a lot of customers,” said Tom Flaherty, General Manager. “It takes a real bite out of that cost and makes it easier for our customers to make improvements that pay off for years to come.”
How it works:
· Homeowners must be current WG+E electric or gas customer.
· A Home Energy Assessment must be scheduled and completed before ** ** any work begins.
· Insulation, air sealing, and blower door testing must be completed by a licensed contractor within 12 months of the assessment.
· Self-installed insulation does not qualify, and homeowners must meet recommended insulation levels unless waived by WG+E.
· Approved rebates are issued as a credit directly to the customer’s WG+E bill.
