Westfield Gas + Electric announces that low summer gas rates are now in effect for May 2026. Customers will notice a small increase to their electric bills of less than $2 per month for the average consumer. WG+E is pleased to provide low, stable rates to Westfield (nearly half that of Eversource) benefiting our customers and allowing us to prepare for uncertainty in the energy markets.

Gasoline and many other expenses have increased because of certain geopolitical events. These same events are impacting the price of power and natural gas in New England too, especially as we look ahead to next winter. WG+E has a well-hedged, diverse portfolio that insulates our rates from many of the elevated prices we see in the markets now. We are constantly preparing for the unknown given the way the global energy industry has been heavily disrupted. We know how dramatically prices can increase in response to headlines, weather, and changes in supply. We are preparing today to maintain safe, reliable power to Westfield in the midst of this uncertainty.

As we look forward to May flowers and summer days, know that WG+E is working every day to provide safe, reliable energy at low rates to power whatever the season brings your way.
